General:
Does the motorcycle have a clutch and gear system?
Ultraviolette believes the future of motorcycles needs to be seamless and exciting. With our direct drive systems, you have all that torque available right from the start and accessible with just a simple twist of the throttle.
Is the F77 equipped with Regenerative Braking?
The F77 is equipped with Dynamic Regenerative Braking as standard. You get to choose between 3 Regen modes based on your preferred riding dynamics. You can also upgrade to the Performance pack and unlock 10 Regen modes for an enhanced riding experience.
How do the different Regen modes affect range?
In order to maximize the range of your F77, you need to select the right Regen Mode depending on your ride conditions:
High regen levels are recommended when you are riding in stop and go traffic, as it results in the vehicle slowing down faster and doesn't allow you to coast easily.
Mid regen levels are recommended when you are riding in low traffic conditions.
Low regen levels are ideal when you are cruising at a constant speed, on a highway, and the vehicle is NOT often under braking.
Selecting the incorrect Regen Mode might result in reduced range.
Does the vehicle have switchable ABS? What is the recommendation for ABS in city use?
Yes, the vehicle has switchable ABS which can be selected on the console. Dual channel is recommended for city or highway use as it is the safest option.
Is there onboard navigation and phone connectivity?
The console is equipped with the latest generation of GPS, LTE, Bluetooth connectivity and host of other sensors. This along with a high brightness and ultra sharp display, you can enjoy a seamless experience of integrated maps and incoming call alerts.
Does the F77 have Park assist/Reverse mode?
The motorcycle comes with a Park assist mode that will help in both reverse and forward directions. The speed would be limited to 3 kmph.
Can I take the F77 off road, like to a beach?
While the F77 has been tested extensively on different terrains, we recommend sticking to paved roads for regular use. Always remember to check with local authorities before taking your vehicle off road. Also refer to our Warranty Terms and Conditions here.
What accessories are included with the vehicle?
The motorcycle comes equipped with all mandatory accessories as per the Indian regulatory requirement. Optional add-on accessories will also be available on our website for an enhanced riding experience.
What is the ownership experience of the F77 like?
We have received overwhelmingly positive responses from pilots who have purchased the F77. This is a testament to the engineering and technology behind the F77 that you can experience at your nearest test ride location. You can read some of the Pilot feedback on the Squadron page here You can also check out our Youtube channel where we do podcasts with Pilots from the UV Squadron.Pilot Talks Episode 01, Pilot Talks Episode 02
What should I do if I don't use the motorcycle for an extended period of time?
Whenever your vehicle is not in use or will be stored for extended periods of time (over 30 days), it is recommended that the vehicle pack is charged to 50% SOC. The charger must be left disconnected. Always park your vehicle in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight. The recommended storage temperature is 0°C to 27°C.
In the event of a crash, what would be the impact on the motorcycle?
The severity of any impact would depend on the nature of the crash. Ultraviolette prioritizes rider safety in all unlikely scenarios through multiple levels of safety. The motorcycle and battery come with multiple fail-safe mechanisms, this ensures the vehicle will shut off to protect itself from any abnormal functionality post the crash. The vehicle is equipped with crash detection sensors which is capable of sending an SOS to your emergency contact. Be rest assured, the motorcycle comes equipped with sensors that detect any abnormal state of the vehicle.
Battery:
What is the battery capacity?
The SRB10 battery pack has an energy capacity of 10.3 kWh, whereas the SRB7 battery pack has an energy capacity of 7.1 kWh
Are the motorcycles water resistant? How careful do I have to be around water?
We have carried out extensive testing across various terrains and weather conditions. Additionally, our battery systems and other electronics are rated IP67, so you can be rest assured that the vehicle can tackle most weather conditions with ease.
Is the battery removable/modular?
The in-house designed state of the art battery system is redesigned ground up to have significantly larger capacity and range. Ultraviolette now has the latest generation of battery packs and it is of a fixed architecture. This means you worry less about charging often and way more riding time!
How does the battery react to extreme temperatures?
The battery is designed and tested across some of the harshest environments. While the battery packs are designed to operate from 0°C to 55°C, the smart battery management system is programmed to take the necessary measures to protect the battery pack under all circumstances. This includes limiting the performance of the vehicle and even pause charging until conditions are within a safe operating region. Simply put, the vehicle's intelligent systems handle all conditions to ensure a safe riding experience.
Range:
What is the range of the motorcycle?
The F77 Mach 2 has an IDC range of 211 km, while the F77 Mach 2 Recon has an IDC range of 323 km. All ranges follow the IDC standard, which can be useful in comparing ranges among electric vehicles. Your actual range will vary depending on the configuration, battery age and condition, riding style and operating, environmental and climate conditions.
What factors affect the range on the vehicle?
Real world range depends on a lot of factors. Riding modes, ambient temperature, riding style (aggressive acceleration and braking), route conditions, payload, tyre pressures and regen modes. Range is heavily dependent on Wh/km. Lower the Wh/km, higher the range. To maximise range, it is recommended to avoid choppy throttle and cruise at constant speeds. Higher the speeds, higher the Wh/km, which results in lesser range.
What is IDC and how does it work?
The IDC rates electric vehicle driving range. It uses a dynamic test cycle with each cycle lasting 108s. The cycles are repeated until the vehicle is unable to meet the required acceleration and speed needed to complete the cycle. The test is conducted as per the requirement stated under Annex II of the CMVR notified by the Government of India. Testing is carried out under ideal conditions using a chassis dynamometer, with the aim of making the conditions as close to the real world as possible. Testing is performed at different speeds and includes stops, acceleration and braking.
Charging:
What are the charging solutions available?
Ultraviolette provides a Standard charger that is capable of adding up to 35 km per hour of charge. An optional Boost charger is available for upgrade at the time of purchase. The Boost charger can add up to 75 km per hour per charge. The chargers do require a 15 Amp socket with proper earthing to function. The motorcycle is equipped with an IEC 62196-6 connector capable of fast charging. Standard charger requires 1.35 kW of power output. Boost charger requires 3.3 kW of power output from your power supply. Both chargers can be used at home or at a public space. You will also be able to charge the motorcycle at any of the UV Supernova fast charging stations. UV Supernova is Ultraviolette's proprietary fast charging infrastructure that is rapidly growing across the country.
What is the actual time required to charge the battery from 0% state-of-charge to 80%?
The Boost Charger can charge the battery from 0% to 80% State of Charge in as fast as 2 hours. The Standard Charger can do 0% to 80% State of Charge in as fast as 4.5 hours.
